SATURDAY 30th NOVEMBER 2.00pm – 4.00pm
We will be holding our Christmas Fair on Saturday 30th November from 2.00pm until 4.00pm. We hope that you will be able to help us with donations for the various stalls. Along with the raffle tickets you will already be receiving shortly, there are a few more things that we hope you will help with.
Year Group Hampers
Please could you provide one item with the appropriate colour to contribute to your class hamper.
As with previous years we have colour themed this as below:
Reception – Anything edible,
Year 1 – Green,
Year 2 – Red,
Year 3 – Gold,
Year 4 – Blue/Purple,
Year 5 – Yellow/white/silver,
Year 6 – Anything goes!
There will be a cake stall and café held in the hall on the day. Cake donations will be gratefully received. Please bring them on Friday or Saturday morning and there will be a prize for the best decorated cake/buns.
Raffle ticket books are on their way home. There are cash prizes and other donated prizes up for grabs. Please help us by selling the tickets you have, with further tickets available from the school office if you need them. If you are unable to sell them, please return them to the school office for others to sell. If you feel you could contribute a raffle prize please let one of the FOM committee or the school office know. Please return all slips/money/unsold tickets by Friday 22 November.
The tradition of the Jarbola stand continues. Please fill a jar with fun items and decorate it. Again there is a prize for the best-decorated Jarbola
A Jarbola is a competition that uses glass jars
That you fill with sweets or tiny chocolate bars
Snazz it up with your very own Christmas design
A snowman, a reindeer or Father Christmas is fine
The 29th November please bring them in
And we can begin to do our judging
A prize for 1st 2nd and 3rd
Let’s get everyone involved… please spread the word
As the day turns to night we set up Jarbola
And raffle them off in our Christmas tombola
There will be plenty of stalls including tombola, raffle and games as well as a visit from Santa so please make a date to come along. Again if you have anything to contribute as a tombola prize, please bring it into school.
Finally, if you do have time to help us with this big fund-raiser, please get in touch – the more helpers the better the day.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Friends of Meadowside are a group of people who come together to raise money to support Meadowside School. Anyone can be a friend of the school and we rely on our parents and grandparents to help us at events either by attending or providing support! This can be selling cakes, helping man a stall at the Christmas Fair or donating clothes for a jumble sale for instance! We even helped fund this website!
Friends of Meadowside were formed to fundraise for the benefit of the pupils at school. Friends of Meadowside is also a way for parents to become more involved with the children's school. Working in partnership with the school can help develop strong links between home and school. We are always looking for new parents who want to get involved in whatever way they can. This could be coming into meetings to help generate ideas, assist in project-managing one of the events, or just letting us know your thoughts and ideas. It could also mean helping out at a particular event or just coming along as a participant and having fun, meeting new people and helping raise much needed funds.
Friends of Meadowside also aims to get involved in the wider community. For a number of years we have entered two teams into The Great Knaresborough Bed Race. With the help of sponsorship, this has proved to be a great fundraiser as well as a fantastic day out for those involved.
