Year 6 had a fabulous visit to Whitby in Summer 2022. We spent time on the beach paddling, sand castle sculpting and enjoying the British weather, took a journey round town guided by a storyteller telling us the myths, legends and history of Whitby. 

We were welcomed at YHA Whitby, which is at the top of the 199 steps, which we traversed a lot! We had a lovely stay there in the historic surroundings by the Abbey, playing within the lovely gardens of the hostel.

Finally we took a treasure trail around the historic West Cliff area of the town and learnt more about local characters and legends in the place names and clues we discovered.
